Visual City gets thumbs up

The Sunday Star Times ran an article yesterday on the Nextspace visual city vision for the Auckland Super City.   Local Government Minister, Rodney Hide says he is taking the idea seriously “I think it’s amazing.  It’s very impressive”  and Nikke Kay, National’s Auckland Centre MP was also supportive, calling it a ”huge opportunity”.

A 3D database of location-based council data could unite councils and citizens to more effectively deliver on the Super City vision.  Nextspace is leading an initiative to build a ‘Visual City’ platform that could unite the data held by the eight councils merging into the Auckland Super City and make this data more accessible for communities and governance.
